Primary Care

The primary care clinic at UC Riverside Student Health and Counseling Center (SHCC) offers primary care services to UC Riverside Students. Our clinic is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and is staffed by board-certified physicians, nurse practitioners, and nurses.

Our services include diagnosis and treatment of most acute and chronic disorders, management of injuries, and preventive health services focused on your health maintenance and disease prevention. We also offer comprehensive laboratory services through our in-house lab, which is a state-licensed, CLIA-certified, and COLA-accredited, staffed by licensed clinical laboratory scientists.

Visit us on the first floor of the SHCC building for physical exams, routine health maintenance, and Education Abroad programs. SHCC also features specialty clinics including Women's Health, Travel Clinic, and Endocrinology Services from UCR Health.

SHCC is open to currently enrolled UCR undergraduate and graduate students. We accept the University of California’s Student Health Insurance Plan (UCSHIP) and Highlander Care. Students who opt out of these programs can receive services at SHCC for a fee.

Students under the age of 18 must upload a signed parent/guardian consent form to their patient portal before receiving treatment at the Student Health and Counseling Center.
