NEW: Med+Proctor Immunization Verification

UCR has partnered with Med+Proctor for verification of student immunization requirements. As of May 1, 2025 all incoming UCR students must set up a Med+Proctor account and complete the electronic Medical Information & Immunization Form.

SHS Update: Policy on External Provider Orders

Regarding lab tests and other diagnostic services (including radiology, X-ray, and ultrasound) ordered by external providers:  UCR Student Health Service (SHS) has a new policy can only process orders from SHS healthcare providers. 

Here's what this means:

  • If you have a lab or diagnostic order from a doctor or clinic outside of SHS, we cannot directly accept it at the SHS lab or imaging facilities.
  • Find an in-network lab or diagnostic center if you're enrolled in UC SHIP (use the Sydney app).

Online Nurse Scheduling

You can conveniently schedule appointments with our nurses online through UCR Student Health. Whether you're a member of UC SHIP, GSHIP, or Highlander Care, our team is ready to assist you. Use our online portal to book appointments or call us at (951) 827-3031 option #2 for services including:

  • Acute triage: Receive initial assessment for any non-emergency health concern.
  • Medication questions: Consult with our nurses regarding your medications.
  • Urinary tract infection (UTI) screening: Get screened for UTI and discuss treatment options.
  • Other miscellaneous acute care needs: We provide care for various non-emergency health concerns.

Additionally, nurse appointments include contraception services such as emergency contraception and oral contraceptive pill refills.

New Weekday Hours – Effective October 20, 2025

Please note that during holiday weeks in the Fall Quarter 25-2026, our office will be open until 5:00 p.m.

  • Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, 8:00 AM–7:00 PM

  • Thursdays: 9:00 AM–7:00 PM

  • Fridays: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Last Routine scheduled appointment is at 6:15 PM

  • For non-emergency medical questions, contact our Nurse Line 24/7 at 877-351-3457.

  • For life-threatening emergencies, hang up and dial 911.

When you need medical attention outside of regular hours, you may feel inclined to visit the emergency room (ER). To make an informed decision, familiarize yourself with the differences between emergency care and urgent care.

Clinic Updates

As we adhere to the California State Vaccination Plan, UCR Student Health Services is not scheduling or administering COVID-19 vaccines to students at this time. Please check this web site regularly for updated information.

Before arriving at a saliva testing station:

Remember that you must complete the Daily Wellness Check before coming onto campus. You will not be allowed to enter the SHS building for medical and dental appointments or pharmacy pick-up or drop-offs without clearance.

    Please allow seven to 10 business days for processing.

    No fee is charged for requests that are sent directly to a physician’s office, medical facility, hospital, medical insurance company, school, State of California disability office, Social Security office, or law enforcement office.

    Fees for Student Personal Requests

    Please determine on your request how you would like to receive your records.

    • Electronic processing: Flat fee of $6.50. Records can be faxed, emailed encrypted with a password, or copied to a CD for mailing or pick up.
    • Paper: 25 cents per paper page copied. Please choose only records that you need to lower your costs if you require paper records.

    A flat fee of $15 is charged for third-party requests (ex., copy services, attorneys, auto insurance etc.).

    Payments

    Current or former students: You will receive a secure encrypted invoice by email if an email address is provided or by mail with your records. We cannot accept cash. Checks or money orders are to be made out to UC Regents and must include your student ID number (if applicable). Checks or money orders can be mailed or dropped off with a copy of the invoice enclosed to:
